More Than Work: How Applied Industrial Technologies Builds Relationships That Last

Applied Industrial Technologies is a multi-million dollar company and a leading technical distributor and solutions provider for critical industrial infrastructure. What truly sets this company apart, however, is their commitment to build lasting relationships with Student Associates from Saint Martin. Applied creates opportunities that inspire growth, learning, and future success for students.

Gina Cirino-Nadock, Copy Center Supervisor at Applied Industrial Technologies, has been a CWS Supervisor to George ‘27 for the past two years. While Gina is still a newer Supervisor, Applied has been a Corporate Work Study partner for the past 18 years. She explained that George is the perfect match. “While at work, George helps with a lot of what happens in the copy center.” From sorting and delivering mail across multiple departments, prepping and labeling packages for outgoing deliveries, organizing and restocking supplies in the copy room, to assisting with large print and copy projects, George ensures that daily operations run smoothly. And beyond his tasks, his positive attitude and friendly presence make him an invaluable part of the team. Gina added, “The entire company could not wait for George to come back to work this school year—we all love him so much and missed his positive energy.”

The experience has been beneficial for George AND for the team at Applied. “Knowing that George wants to come to work is extremely rewarding to us,” Gina shared. She added that George is eager to learn new skills, which aligns perfectly with her goal this year of exposing him to more projects that build career readiness and also strengthen confidence, curiosity, and personal growth. This reflects the true impact of Corporate Work Study, empowering students while creating lasting value for partner companies.

Gina is ready for the new school year and is excited to welcome a new Student Associate, Ky’Lee ’29. She also has some advice for companies interested in joining the Corporate Work Study family: “Be patient. There is a lot of opportunity to learn from your students.” Her experience with George ’27 is a perfect example of how these partnerships create meaningful growth, for both the students and the companies that support them.
